Oracle BSS Stack Lead

Overview
In this role you own end-to-end operation of Oracle BSS platforms, ensuring availability, performance and resilience. You act as the technical authority for critical incidents and programmes, guiding release governance, stakeholder management and DevOps/SRE transformation. You define roadmaps aligned with Vodafone UK priorities and drive automation, observability and continual service improvement. You lead cross-functional collaboration with Architecture, Delivery and business teams to sustain platform health and stakeholder confidence.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operation of Oracle BSS platforms (Siebel CRM, Oracle OSM, Oracle BRM) and related applications
- Define and deliver technical roadmaps aligned with business priorities
- Lead capacity planning, risk management and continual service improvement
- Ensure SLAs, KPIs and service management requirements are met
- Lead incident recovery and ensure timely service restoration
- Govern Problem Management, root cause analysis and preventative actions
- Oversee deployment readiness, rollback strategies and production-readiness reviews
- Coordinate cross-environment release planning and Change Management
- Drive automation across deployment, monitoring and operations
- Implement CI/CD with Jenkins, GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Set observability standards using Dynatrace, Splunk and related tools
- Reduce repetitive work through automation and efficiency improvements
- Build relationships with customer stakeholders, business teams and vendors
- Act as senior escalation point for critical BSS platform issues
- Provide executive updates and risk assessments
- Partner with Architecture, Delivery and Business teams on priorities
- Lead and mentor L1-L3 support engineers and promote knowledge management and DevOps/SRE practices
Key requirements
- extensive telecom IT experience and Oracle BSS expertise (Siebel CRM or Oracle BRM)
- minimum five years’ experience leading application support or operations teams
- experience in production services management and major-incident recovery
- Unix/Linux administration and Oracle SQL troubleshooting
- ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change and release management
- experience with production operations, stakeholder management and vendor engagement
- practical experience with DevOps and SRE practices and automation initiatives
- clear communication of complex technical matters to diverse stakeholders
- experience with cloud technologies, containers and Kubernetes is a plus
- familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms is advantageous
- knowledge of Oracle OSS components is beneficial but not required
