Overview

In this role you will serve as the Oracle PL/SQL and APEX expert for Marketforce applications, delivering BAU and enhancements within a mixed Oracle/.NET environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support essential circulation systems and data processes, driving performance and reliability. This position offers exposure to Oracle Forms, APEX, and BI tooling in a large media distribution context, with a hybrid working pattern in London. You help optimise data workflows and ensure quality across platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Own BAU delivery, enhancements, and developments for Marketforce applications
  • Serve as the primary Oracle PL/SQL and APEX technical expert and liaison to the business
  • Provide secondary development coverage for other applications based on expertise
  • Debug and optimise PL/SQL, ensure performance tuning
  • Work with Oracle Forms 12c, ETL processes, and data extraction/loads
  • Utilise SQL, SQLPlus/Toad/SQL Developer for data analysis and complex queries
  • Adhere to standard procedures and project lifecycle practices
  • Maintain database best practices and contribute to application understanding
  • Support and troubleshoot in a IT environment with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Key requirements
  • Oracle PL/SQL development experience
  • Strong SQL writing and data analysis skills
  • Experience with complex, optimized SQL queries
  • PL/SQL debugging and performance tuning
  • Experience with Oracle Forms 12c (Oracle Fusion Middleware)
  • ETL processing experience
  • Knowledge of partitioning and materialised views
  • Experience in a support environment with problem solving
  • Knowledge of database best practices
