Overview

In this role you oversee the lifts package across 10 assets on the HS2 line, leading a Delivery Managers team and managing the subcontract supply chain from design through handover. You’ll align with the MEP Lead and Asset Leads to deliver safety-focused, high-quality outcomes on a major rail project. You drive cost, schedule, and risk management while promoting continuous improvement across assets. This is a hands-on, cross-functional leadership role with a clear impact on project delivery and safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Subcontract supply chain management from design to handover
  • Subcontract and change management including contract terms and commercial support
  • Budget and cost management with proactive cost control
  • Programme management and integration of subcontract programmes into main programme
  • Risk management including risk registers and proactive mitigation
  • Safety leadership and environmental stewardship across the supply chain
  • Constructability reviews and design risk management from design to construction
  • Quality assurance through ITPs and coordination with quality teams
  • Technical solution development and engagement with engineering teams
  • Fostering continuous improvement and lessons learnt across assets and packages
  • Delivery of works on 10 assets along the line of route for HS2
  • Relationship building with Asset Leads, Delivery Managers, and customer representatives
  • Ensuring compliance with SCS processes and statutory requirements
  • Progress reporting and issue resolution with Delivery Managers and Asset Leads
Key requirements
  • Experience in delivering lifts packages, including procurement, design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover
  • Knowledge of NEC construction contracts
  • Understanding of construction techniques and sequencing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD)
  • Excellent communication skills
