The Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine responsibilities include administration, management, maintaining accreditation and medical directorship for CLIA licensure and leadership of the entire Path and Lab Service at the facility. The service chief will report to the VA San Diego Healthcare System Chief of Staff, who is responsible for the overall clinical and administrative function of the pathologist physician staff.
