Overview

As Payroll & Mobility Specialist in London, you will coordinate UK and international payrolls and benefits with external providers, and manage global mobility topics for cross-border assignments. You’ll ensure compliant payroll processing, tax treatment, and mobility governance while improving processes and controls. This role supports finance, HR, and mobility initiatives within a high-trust, growth-focused private bank. You’ll work across London and Hamburg teams, shaping efficient, compliant payroll and mobility operations.

Responsibilities
  • Review and sign-off UK and selected international payrolls with external providers (4-eyes principle)
  • Ensure accurate payroll data processing and statutory calculations
  • Oversee payroll compliance with tax, legal, and internal control requirements
  • Support finance-related reconciliations and related reporting
  • Coordinate and review benefit schemes, renewals, and enrolment processes
  • Optimize payroll processes, including migrations between providers
  • Act as mobility topic lead for secondments, business travel, tax, social security, pensions, and visas
  • Ensure compliant payroll and tax treatment for internationally mobile employees
  • Coordinate mobility cases and related reporting obligations
  • Contribute to development of mobility policies and risk controls related to cross-border employment
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in UK payroll and benefits with external providers
  • Strong knowledge of UK personal tax (tax codes, NI, statutory calculations, benefits in kind)
  • Understanding of tax, social security, and pension implications in international contexts
  • Practical experience in Global Mobility topics
  • Ability to handle large volumes of numerical data and manage multiple tasks to deadlines
  • High ownership and an organized, risk-aware approach

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with external payroll providers
