Purpose and Overview :

The Payroll Specialist will prioritize payroll responsibilities , including processing semi-monthly payroll , processing remittances and reporting , and preparing tax forms , wire transfers and journal entries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the semi-monthly payroll for processing for Canadian & the US corporate employees.
  • Processing payroll changes , including salary increases, changes to taxable benefits, etc. in ADP WorkforceNow.
  • Preparing monthly wire transfers for Global employees.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records , including back-up documentation and approvals.
  • Maintaining and reconciling vacation accruals and balances in ADP WorkforceNow
  • Processing WorkSafe BC, WSIB, and Ontario and BC EHT remittances and reporting.
  • Preparing annual T4s, T4As, W2s, records of employment, and various payroll reports as requested.
  • Assisting with transfer pricing calculations .
  • Preparing the Monthly Journal entries .
  • Reconciling taxable benefits monthly and coding benefits invoices.
  • Assist with payroll audits as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Required Professional Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll work experience
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP ) designation or working towards it.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables , VLOOKUP and data analysis.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, HR and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain a high level of Confidentiality and discretion.

Assets:

  • Accounting Degree
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with ERP systems

Defining Success within the First Year:

  • Prepare accurate Monthly Journal Entries and reports
  • Prepare payroll accurately and on time.

Salary Range

  • CAD$70,000 -$85,000(annually)
