Payroll Specialist

Job Type: Contract Role (3-6 Months), 5 days On-site, Surrey, BC

Job Salary: $34 - $40 / Hour

Job Description

This position is responsible for owning hourly payroll for approximately 30 employees , while salary payroll continues to be managed by Counteractor. With the role now structured as a full-time, 40-hour/week assignment, the contractor will also support broader accounting and administrative functions, including:

• Daily time entry and resolution of shop-floor payroll issues
• Payroll register review and reconciliation
• Benefits administration
• Uniform cleaning deduction tracking
• Light AP/AR support
• Reporting and reconciliation with Counteractor
• Responding to employee payroll inquiries
• Additional accounting/administrative tasks as capacity allows

Must‑Have Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on payroll experience
• Payroll software proficiency (ADP strongly preferred )
• Ability to review and reconcile payroll registers—not just process payroll
• Foundational accounting knowledge (debits/credits)
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Clear, professional communication skills
• Ability to work 40 hours/week fully on‑site
• Manufacturing or industrial payroll

• Experience with NetSuite , Dynamics , QuickBooks , or similar ERPs
