Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

A health services system in Arizona is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join its team in the Greater Phoenix area. This position offers all in-house coverage for newborn and pediatric patients in a hospital-based setting, with opportunities to support both day and night shifts.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Days or Nights
• Schedule: Monday to Sunday; minimum of 4 shifts per month
• Hours: 7am to 4pm or 7am to 8pm or 7pm to 7:30am
• Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based

Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient pediatric and newborn coverage in a shared women's and children's tower
• Care for healthy newborns in the nursery and manage acute care pediatric patients
• Perform lumbar punctures when covering the floor and complete other required inpatient procedures as needed
• Work collaboratively with on-site emergency department and PICU resources
• Support resident teaching as part of an all in-house hospitalist team

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience caring for newborns or working as a Pediatric Hospitalist
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• 1 to 2 years of experience out of Residency
• Current AHA BLS and PALS certification
• Active Arizona DEA registration
• Ability to perform required inpatient procedures, including lumbar punctures
