Pediatrics Physician

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Pediatrician (MD/DO) to join Bon Secours Pediatrics of Mechanicsville, an established practice with more than 40 years of service to the local community. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality care to children and families throughout the Richmond area.

With strong community demand for pediatric services and upcoming physician retirements, this position offers the opportunity to care for an established patient population while helping expand access to care for local families.

Position Highlights

• Established Practice: Join a team of nine other primary care providers in a well-established pediatric practice.
• Patient Population: Provide care to newborns through age 21.
• Manageable Ramp-Up: Start with approximately 8 10 patients per day, gradually building to an average of patients daily.
• Balanced Schedule: 36 clinical hours and 4 hours of dedicated administrative time per week.
• Clinical Support: Work alongside dedicated nursing staff, including a primary rooming nurse for each provider.
• Collaborative Environment: Partner with an experienced pediatric medical director and supportive clinical team.
• Onsite Resources: Access to a full-service laboratory and a licensed clinical social worker shared with Pediatrics of Richmond.
• Virtual Care Options: Virtual visits may be available for appropriate appointments based on provider preference.

Schedule and Call

• Monday Friday, with office hours of 7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
• Rotating Saturday clinic coverage from 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.
• Shared call rotation across three pediatric practices, averaging approximately 3 4 days per month.
• Call hours are 5:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m., covering urgent patient concerns, medication questions, and telephone triage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive pediatric primary care, including preventive visits and sick visits.
• Build lasting relationships with patients and their families.
• Help improve access to pediatric services in Mechanicsville and surrounding communities.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical support staff to provide excellent patient care.
• Participate in the shared call rotation and Saturday clinic schedule.
• Support clinical education and teamwork within the practice.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certification in Pediatrics.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and families.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
