Overview

As a Pensions Systems Developer, you will configure and enhance the pensions administration platform to improve efficiency and member experience. You’ll work with internal teams and external providers to deliver technical solutions and platform improvements that support day-to-day operations. You will contribute to testing, governance, and continuous improvement, helping colleagues build system expertise. This role offers hands-on development in a specialist technology team within a leading pensions organisation, with a clear focus on impact and scale.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, configure and enhance platform functionality including workflows, calculations, reporting, integrations, and document production
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system users and operational teams
  • Collaborate with project, change and business teams to deliver platform enhancements
  • Support testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable releases
  • Contribute to development planning, sprints and continuous improvement
  • Produce and analyse reporting to demonstrate impact of developments
  • Ensure governance, quality and change management standards are followed
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues and broaden systems expertise across the business
Key requirements
  • Experience supporting and developing defined benefit pensions administration systems
  • Strong understanding of pensions operations, processes and administration technology
  • Experience delivering system improvements and business-critical enhancements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with diverse stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience configuring pensions administration systems including workflows, calculations, reporting, payroll, finance or member-facing functionality
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience interrogating, analysing and troubleshooting complex data
  • Strong communication skills explaining technical concepts to varied audiences
