PHP Laravel Backend Developer

Build secure backend services with PHP and Laravel at BUMP in a hybrid, permanent full-time Backend Developer role. Work across APIs, databases, and production systems.

On BUMP's Prediction Markets team, you will support a multi-tenant platform designed for Latin American markets. The work includes REST and GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL databases, queue-driven processing, and real-time services. You will also contribute to financial workflows, integrations, testing, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain backend services using PHP and Laravel
• Develop background jobs, scheduled tasks, queues, and retry processes
• Create REST and GraphQL APIs for multiple use cases
• Maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, indexes, and queries
• Investigate escalated production issues during Tier 3 on-call rotation

Requirements:

• At least two years of backend development experience
• Experience with PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, and relational databases
• Experience with authentication, authorization, validation, and automated tests
• Experience with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada and fluent English
