As the business scales, they are now strengthening their engineering function to improve how their core platform is built, extended, and evolved.


Job Description


This is an engineering role focused on building, improving, and extending the core platform. You will work closely with the founders and Technical Lead to take ownership of key areas of the product from WordPress/WooCommerce development through to custom integrations, APIs, and performance optimisation.


Key Responsibilities



  • Build and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce-based eCommerce systems

  • Develop custom plugins, themes, and backend functionality (PHP/Laravel)

  • Design and integrate APIs and third-party systems

  • Work across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)

  • Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability


Requirements



  • Strong commercial experience with PHP development/Laravel

  • Proven experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerce

  • Experience building custom plugins or themes

  • Strong understanding of JavaScript (vanilla, React or Vue preferred)

  • Experience with APIs and third-party integrations

  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, product-focused environments


Benefits


Salary of £50,000 to £55,000.


Other


This role is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site requirement in the Nottingham based office.
