Planning Officer (Power BI Developer)

Overview
In this role you will design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and applications to support insights and strategic decision-making across the School. You will work within the Planning Division to translate needs from across the University into scalable data solutions. You will build robust data models and visuals that enable stakeholders to monitor progress toward strategic objectives. This is a fixed-term appointment with a career-friendly environment that values training, collaboration, and hybrid working. - Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and applications for insight generation
- Develop and manage ETL processes using Alteryx, PowerQuery, or Fabric tools to create reliable datasets
- Build and optimize semantic models (dimensional/star schema) and DAX for scalable reporting
- Translate business requirements into data models, measures, and visuals for end-users
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff across the School
- Provide training and support to peers and end-users in-person and online
- Experience designing and maintaining high-quality visualization reports and dashboards
- Experience ETL processes using Alteryx, PowerQuery (M) or Fabric tools
- Experience developing and managing semantic models (dimensional/star schema) and DAX optimization
- Experience translating business requirements into data models and visuals for actionable insights
- Ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical staff and provide training/support
