Plant Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Plant Accountant for a growing manufacturing organization located west of Cleveland, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys partnering with operations, analyzing manufacturing performance, and driving financial accuracy in a plant environment. The Plant Accountant will play a key role in cost accounting, inventory analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while working closely with plant leadership. Plant Accountant

Location: West of Cleveland, Ohio

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, material, and overhead variances
• Maintain and monitor standard costing and inventory accuracy
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities
• Partner with plant operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability
• Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
• Prepare financial analyses and management reporting for plant leadership
• Investigate financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• ERP experience required; SAP experience is a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with operations teams
