Platform Architect

You will own the on-premises and private cloud infrastructure, shaping standards and roadmaps to support a hybrid environment. Working with Platform and Solution Architects, you’ll guide scalable, latency-sensitive systems that enable high-impact research. You’ll translate architectural vision into delivered capabilities, balancing security, governance, and agility. This role offers strategic influence over technology decisions that underpin the firm’s competitive edge.

• Own and evolve the on-premises infrastructure roadmap to align with business objectives
• Define infrastructure principles, standards and patterns for consistency and interoperability
• Evaluate and select infrastructure technologies across vendors and cloud providers
• Act as technical authority for on-premises architecture and escalation point for engineering teams
• Champion best practices ensuring designs support broader technology initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering to translate architectural vision into capabilities
• Ensure governance and compliance, balancing security with business agility

• Extensive infrastructure architecture experience with emphasis on private cloud and on-premises environments
• Deep virtualization and container platform expertise (VMware, OpenStack, KVM, Kubernetes)
• Strong networking knowledge (physical, SDN, VXLAN; container networking CNIs)
• Hands-on with public cloud (AWS preferred) and hybrid connectivity
• Ability to design and deliver infrastructure roadmaps for complex organizations
• Leadership and influence skills with stakeholder management
• Excellent technical communication to both technical and executive audiences
