Overview

In this role you will design, build, and maintain scalable compute and storage services to support Squarepoint’s growth. You will work with a global team to optimize performance, capacity, and reliability across Linux-based platforms and distributed storage. You will automate, monitor, and standardize operations while aligning with cross-functional priorities and long-term objectives. This is a hands-on role focused on scale, automation, and ongoing learning in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to shaping the platform stack and drive tangible impact across the infrastructure landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Scale compute and storage environments through standardization, automation, and thorough monitoring
  • Enforce development standards for source control, testing, and CI for infrastructure, OS, patches, and configuration management
  • Manage distributed compute and multi-petabyte storage systems
  • Install, manage, and monitor Linux (RHEL-based) systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the stack
  • Collaborate with business owners to re-prioritize work while delivering tactical and strategic objectives
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in technology infrastructure, including Linux administration
  • Experience with configuration management (Chef or Ansible)
  • Experience with distributed storage and storage protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA)
  • Proficient in Python or another high-level language (Go, Rust, etc.)
  • Experience with modern software development: version control, Agile, CI/CD
  • Observability in distributed systems (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with AWS and GCP
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related area
