Overview

As a Platform Development Engineer at Nexperia, you will shape the power MOSFET platform from concept through prototype, validation, and industrialisation. You will work within a large R&D team, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners to align on specifications and strategy. You’ll solve complex device- and process-related challenges with TCAD, Cadence and Klayout, delivering clear technical summaries. This role offers exposure to customers, vendors, and manufacturing operations, with a hybrid presence in Stockport.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and translate Customer Requirement Specifications for the product
  • Advance technology platform and product design using TCAD, Cadence and Klayout
  • Perform data analysis during wafer test, assembly and qualification stages
  • Deliver concise technical summaries and communicate with team members and stakeholders
Key requirements
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Several years of experience in power semiconductor technology development (Power MOSFETs, preferably Silicon) with understanding of device physics, process interactions, manufacturability and failure mechanisms
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical information to stakeholders and cross-functional teams
