Contract: 6 Months (Initial engagement with potential for extension)

Rate: Between $50-$70/HR (depending on the years of experience)

Swoon is partnering with a client in Sports & Entertainment industry to expand the digital innovation side of their business. The Venture's team is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to help build scalable, cloud-native infrastructure and developer tooling that will power the client's next generation of digital experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Design & Build: Develop and operate the cloud platform across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and on-prem technologies to deliver highly available infrastructure for internal product teams.
  • Automate & Scale: Apply SRE concepts to build highly available services, leveraging IaC and CI/CD pipelines to ensure the platform scales with demand.
  • Monitor & Maintain: Ensure system health, measuring availability and latency using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog. Participate in an on-call schedule for incident escalation.
  • Collaborate & Guide: Work closely with cross-functional development and operations teams. Establish design patterns and drive knowledge transfer of technical practices and developer enablement.
  • Innovate: Evaluate and leverage AI-powered development tools to improve engineering workflows, and participate in the ongoing transition from on-prem to cloud-first environments.

The Must-Haves

  • Cloud Expertise: 5+ years of operational experience (DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering) with extensive, hands-on experience in AWS .
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Strong background with Docker and enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Deep knowledge of Terraform and Ansible .
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Hands-on experience with declarative management tools like Helm , Flux , or ArgoCD , alongside SCM tools like GitHub.
  • Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in Python and/or Go .
  • OS: Solid experience working in Linux-based environments.

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing both Linux and Windows servers in production.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management integrations (e.g., Azure Identity) and building automations using the Microsoft Graph API.
  • Solid understanding of general networking principles and common protocols.
  • Experience with operational incident management tools (ServiceNow, PagerDuty).
  • Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and advanced AI engineering workflow tools.
