Overview

As a Platform Engineer at CGI, you will design, automate and optimize secure, cloud-native platforms underpinning Big Data and cyber defence efforts. You’ll own complex engineering challenges within an agile team, delivering reliable, scalable, and secure solutions. Your work will influence technical decisions and improve development workflows across the security-focused programme. Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, test and maintain secure, scalable Kubernetes-based platforms and containerised applications
  • Develop automation solutions and CI/CD pipelines to speed delivery and improve reliability
  • Monitor platform health, diagnose and resolve complex issues to improve availability and performance
  • Develop and configure infrastructure, networking and Linux-based systems for seamless integration
  • Apply modern DevOps practices and cloud-native technologies to enhance engineering capabilities
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects and delivery teams in an agile environment and contribute to technical decisions
Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, management, troubleshooting, optimisation)
  • Proven experience in Platform Engineering for reliable, scalable cloud-native platforms
  • Practical experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tooling
  • Solid Linux systems knowledge and infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls, connectivity)
  • Automation/scripting experience (Python, shell)
  • Agile, cross-functional team collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex platform/infrastructure issues
