Platform Engineer

They're looking to appoint a Platform Engineer to join their Engineering team, helping drive platform reliability, cloud infrastructure, security and delivery across a modern AWS environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys building and improving cloud platforms, automating infrastructure and driving engineering best practices. You'll play a key role in shaping platform standards, improving operational resilience and enabling the continued growth of a business-critical technology platform.

£70,000 - £75,000 (with flex) + Benefits

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Building, maintaining and improving AWS-hosted platform infrastructure.
• Supporting Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using tools such as Terraform and Serverless Framework.
• Driving automation and DevOps best practices across development and operations teams.
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Strengthening platform security, IAM controls and governance standards.
• Supporting cloud migration activity, infrastructure improvements and platform modernisation.
• Enhancing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability capabilities.
• Working closely with engineering, security and product teams to deliver platform improvements.
• Supporting API services, backend platform components and operational readiness activities.
• Contributing to platform reliability, scalability and long-term technical strategy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong commercial experience within a Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
• Strong AWS experience, ideally across EC2, IAM, S3, CloudFront, Load Balancers and networking services.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Serverless Framework.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management and governance controls.
• Experience with monitoring, logging and operational support tooling.
• Exposure to distributed systems, APIs and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, infrastructure and security teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Akamai, WAF technologies or edge security platforms.
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, Go or backend services development.
• Experience supporting cloud migrations, platform transformation projects or DNS cutovers.
• SIEM, compliance or security engineering exposure.
