Platform Engineer

In this Platform Engineer role, you will build and secure ManyPets’ cloud foundations, tooling, and deployment pipelines to enable fast, reliable service delivery. You’ll focus on demonstrating security controls, automating compliance, and tightening access across the cloud estate, while collaborating with the Head of Security to build a dedicated security capability. The position blends platform engineering with security-focused work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll contribute to scalable, cloud-native solutions and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Design and maintain shared cloud infrastructure, tooling and deployment pipelines
• Define infrastructure as code for repeatable environments
• Enforce secure defaults and edge/network security tooling
• Own day-to-day platform operations and respond to squad needs
• Build automated security checks and evidence collection for ISO 27001
• Surface gaps and drift, prioritise and remediate findings
• Tighten access controls and manage secrets/m(machine identities)
• Extend standards from AWS to Google Cloud and collaborate with teams
• Foster cross-squad collaboration, knowledge sharing and documentation
• Own learning journey and personal technical development

• Commercial experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on a major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure)
• Hands-on experience defining infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform or similar)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals (IAM, secrets management, network controls, encryption)
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language
• Comfort working in a regulated environment (FCA and ISO 27001)
