Overview

In this role, you will own the data availability and integration platform for easyJet’s Airline Operations, leading a team of Platform Engineers and Integration Specialists. You will shape the integration strategy, drive API and event-stream delivery, and ensure reliable, governed data feeds between vendor systems and internal products. You will champion a platform-as-a-product mindset, promoting reuse and self-service patterns across missions. This is a chance to influence how mission-critical data is accessed in a 24x7 airline environment and to work with cross-functional partners to raise engineering standards.

Responsibilities
  • Own the integration strategy and translate it into adoption patterns, templates, and reference implementations
  • Lead roadmaps and backlogs for APIs, event streams, operational data stores, and feeds; promote reuse across missions
  • Ensure data availability, timeliness, and integrity while aligning with governance
  • Set non-functional requirements and build observability for uptime, performance, and resilience
  • Line-manage and develop Platform Engineers and Integration Specialists, reducing single points of failure
  • Manage vendor relationships around endpoint constraints, rate limits, and API maturity to influence roadmaps
Key requirements
  • Proven experience owning an API/integration capability and driving pattern adoption
  • Strong API design/management, event-driven architecture, and operational data store expertise
  • Experience creating mediated interfaces to abstract vendor systems and separating read/commit paths
  • Cloud platform exposure (preferably Azure), automated testing, CI/CD, and IaC
  • Proven ability to operate in a live 24x7 environment with disaster recovery and on-call practices
  • Experience leading engineers in a matrix environment and prioritizing backlogs
  • Strong technical credibility under pressure
