Overview

In this role you lead and shape the strategy, performance, and evolution of Virgin Media O2’s core integration platform. You will own the platform vision across middleware, microservices and API ecosystems, partnering with technical leads and strategic allies to deliver governed, high-performing services. You’ll drive AI-enabled innovation, optimize engineering productivity, and manage cost and risk while modernising integration capabilities to unlock business value. This is a chance to lead a cloud-native, API-led transformation at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the platform strategy and roadmap for middleware, MSA and API gateways
  • Ensure resilience, scalability and alignment with business priorities across integration platforms
  • Collaborate with technical leads and partners to deliver governed, high-performing services
  • Steer AI-enabled innovation and improve engineering productivity
  • Manage performance, cost and risk of the platform
  • Drive modernisation of integration capabilities and measurable business value
Key requirements
  • Significant experience leading large-scale enterprise platforms
  • Strong expertise in middleware and integration platforms (GCP and Oracle Fusion)
  • Deep understanding of API management and gateway technologies (Apigee)
  • Experience with microservices architecture and MACH principles
  • Proven experience operating within a strategic partner or managed service model
