Overview

As Platform Manager for HPC and digital infrastructure, you own and evolve a complex estate spanning HPC, GPU, Linux, clusters, storage, networks and cloud services to support demanding research workloads. You will shape platform strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver scalable, resilient infrastructure. The role sits at the core of innovation, enabling researchers and engineers to push computational boundaries. Responsibilities
  • Lead the operation and strategic development of a complex HPC and digital infrastructure environment.
  • Manage platform services supporting high-performance computing and research computing workloads.
  • Oversee Linux-based server environments, cluster infrastructure, storage platforms, and networking services.
  • Ensure platform resilience, scalability, security, and availability.
  • Drive automation, monitoring, observability, and operational best practices.
  • Manage technical incidents, service improvements, and platform optimisation programmes.
  • Lead and develop a team of technical specialists and platform engineers.
  • Define and deliver infrastructure and platform roadmaps aligned to future business requirements.
  • Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to prioritise investment and innovation initiatives.
