Platform Operations Director

In this role you will lead ClearCourse’s technology operations across cloud, on‑premise, and internal IT for 40+ portfolio companies. You will own infrastructure, security operations, DR/BCP, and FinOps, shaping cost discipline and resilience. You’ll partner with governance, Platform Engineering, and SRE to ensure observability, incident readiness, and scalable platforms. This is a hands‑on leadership role that drives operational excellence and strategic technology outcomes.

• End-to-end technology estate ownership including cloud (Azure), colocation, hosting, internal IT and end-user environments
• Own cloud strategy, cost optimisation, and FinOps discipline with central management of Azure costs
• End-to-end security operations leadership, IAM policy guidance, and incident escalation in collaboration with CISO
• DR planning, backup testing, and business continuity oversight across the portfolio
• Manage internal IT and systems administration (M365, NetSuite, SuccessFactors, SharePoint) and ensure observability/SRE readiness
• Vendor and cost management, drive FinOps outcomes, interface with CTTO and Platform Engineering on integration

• Infrastructure and cloud operations leadership at scale (Azure production, IaC governance)
• Experience running internal IT operations across a distributed estate
• Commercial awareness with proven cloud cost management and FinOps outcomes
• Incident management and major incident response leadership at group level
• Strong vendor management including MSPs, colocation contracts, and cloud negotiations
