Platform Owner - Public Cloud

In this role you will lead Primark’s Cloud Engineering & Operations to deliver scalable, self-service cloud capabilities that empower product teams to move fast. You’ll establish governance, security, and financial controls while driving high availability and efficient resource use. As a senior technical leader, you’ll set direction, mentor diverse teams, and partner with technology vendors to advance Primark’s cloud strategy. • Lead the Cloud Engineering & Operations function in partnership with technology partners to deliver new platform capabilities and self-service cloud services
• Establish and oversee governance frameworks for financial management, security operations, deployment practices, and policy compliance
• Define and enforce quality standards, service-transition rigor, and security compliance to improve availability and SLA metrics
• Serve as a senior technical leader, communicating complex issues to senior stakeholders and shaping technical direction
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of cloud roadmaps
• Coach, mentor, and line-manage cloud engineering talent (internal and partner teams) and drive continuous improvement
• Foster alignment with Primark’s engineering strategy

• 8+ years of leadership in cloud and/or SRE functions
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, cloud service models (PaaS, Serverless, Containers) and IaC governance
• Strong design and delivery experience for scalable, fault-tolerant, secure cloud systems with observability and monitoring
• Understanding of security operational frameworks and enterprise-grade operational processes
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (desirable) and exposure to Google Cloud Platform
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse engineering teams including third-party partners
• Experience advocating for DevOps, Agile, Lean, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
• Strategic, analytical thinker with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
