Platform Product Lead

In this hybrid role you own Toolstation's cloud platform and guide AI-enabled capabilities across the business. You’ll shape platform roadmaps, ensure reliable delivery, and lead modernization while managing key vendor relationships. You will stay hands-on with IaC and testing AI features, driving cost awareness and secure, scalable operations. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable platform outcomes aligned with business goals.

• Own GCP/GKE cloud runtime, API gateway, Kafka backbone, and identity/security platform with roadmaps and SLAs
• Lead Gemini agent platform governance and reusable AI patterns to enable safe, rapid shipping
• Write/review IaC (OpenTofu/Terraform, Helm, FluxCD) and directly build with AI to test standards
• Own cloud costs as a platform outcome, cost attribution, availability scorecards, and end-of-life exposure
• Drive architecture/design reviews and in-flight platform modernization programs
• Manage key vendor relationships (Google Cloud, Confluent, Tyk, Datadog) and grow the platform engineering team (SRE, DevSecOps, agent engineering)

• Substantial hands-on production Kubernetes experience (ideally Google Cloud/GKE)
• Fluency in Terraform/OpenTofu and FluxCD/Argo CD
• Experience managing a platform as a product (roadmaps, adoption metrics, SLAs)
• Strong FinOps experience, vendor negotiation, and ability to explain costs to executives
