Platform Solution Architect

In this role you will lead the design and governance of secure, resilient connectivity across the M&S estate, translating requirements into standardised architectures. You will act as the design authority, creating reference architectures and reusable patterns to support 1,000 stores, logistics sites, datacentres and Azure cloud. You will champion automation and IaC, guiding the connectivity community while aligning with enterprise strategy. This is a hands-on leadership position that shapes scalable, secure networking across campus, datacentre, WAN and cloud domains.

• Lead the design and governance of secure, resilient connectivity solutions across the M&S estate
• Translate business and technical requirements into practical connectivity architectures
• Act as the design authority ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy
• Create and maintain reference architectures, standards and reusable patterns
• Champion automation, IaC and documentation-as-code and provide technical leadership across the connectivity community

• Expert knowledge of enterprise networking technologies
• Experience designing large-scale connectivity solutions
• Deep expertise in campus, datacentre and wireless networking including SD-WAN and Azure networking
• Strong knowledge of network security and core services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
• Proficiency in Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code and automation of connectivity solutions
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
