Platform Specialist - PLS

In this role you will design, deploy, and manage scalable, enterprise-grade storage services to support company growth. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance storage architectures and reliable operations. You’ll tackle capacity planning, performance tuning, and data lifecycle management, while contributing to automation and observability. • Design, deploy, and manage distributed storage systems at scale with automation and monitoring
• Architect and maintain high-performance storage solutions (NFS, GPFS, WEKA, object storage)
• Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management for efficient utilization and cost control
• Monitor storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies
• Develop and maintain automation tooling for storage provisioning, configuration, and health monitoring
• Collaborate with compute, networking, and application teams to meet performance and reliability requirements
• Improve storage observability, alerting, and incident response processes
• Evaluate and integrate new storage technologies including cloud storage services (AWS S3, EBS, EFS, GCP Cloud Storage, Filestore)
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery readiness across storage platforms
• Document storage architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures

• 5+ years in a technology infrastructure role focused on storage and Linux administration
• Deep expertise with distributed storage systems and protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph or similar)
• Experience with storage performance analysis, benchmarking, and optimization
• Experience with configuration management driven administration (Chef or Ansible)
• Proficient in Python or other high-level languages (Go, Rust) for automation and tooling
• Experience with modern software development practices (version control, agile, CI/CD)
• Experience with observability in distributed systems (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience with cloud storage services across AWS and GCP
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related area
