Overview

In this role you will design, deploy, and manage scalable, enterprise-grade storage services to support company growth. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance storage architectures and reliable operations. You’ll tackle capacity planning, performance tuning, and data lifecycle management, while contributing to automation and observability. This role offers an opportunity to influence storage strategy, scale systems, and implement modern storage technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage distributed storage systems at scale with automation and monitoring
  • Architect and maintain high-performance storage solutions (NFS, GPFS, WEKA, object storage)
  • Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management for efficient utilization and cost control
  • Monitor storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies
  • Develop and maintain automation tooling for storage provisioning, configuration, and health monitoring
  • Collaborate with compute, networking, and application teams to meet performance and reliability requirements
  • Improve storage observability, alerting, and incident response processes
  • Evaluate and integrate new storage technologies including cloud storage services (AWS S3, EBS, EFS, GCP Cloud Storage, Filestore)
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery readiness across storage platforms
  • Document storage architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in a technology infrastructure role focused on storage and Linux administration
  • Deep expertise with distributed storage systems and protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph or similar)
  • Experience with storage performance analysis, benchmarking, and optimization
  • Experience with configuration management driven administration (Chef or Ansible)
  • Proficient in Python or other high-level languages (Go, Rust) for automation and tooling
  • Experience with modern software development practices (version control, agile, CI/CD)
  • Experience with observability in distributed systems (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with cloud storage services across AWS and GCP
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related area
