PLC Programmer

Location: Cambridge, ON - Travel Required As Well

Pay: $45-$48 Per Hour

We are seeking an experienced PLC Automation Specialist to support the maintenance, optimization, retrofit, and modernization of custom automated manufacturing equipment. This role is heavily focused on implementing custom PLC upgrades, troubleshooting existing systems, and enhancing machine functionality. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of PLC programming principles, automation systems, and machine controls, with the ability to analyze, modify, and improve complex PLC code across a variety of platforms. They must be able to clearly explain their technical decisions, communicate effectively with engineering and maintenance teams, and demonstrate a strong understanding of how automation systems function from both a software and hardware perspective.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of experience working with PLC-controlled automated equipment, preferably within custom automation, industrial manufacturing, or machinery environments.
• Extensive hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with platforms such as: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley / Siemens Omron
• Strong understanding of machine control architecture, industrial networks, motion control, and automated systems.
• Proven experience executing PLC retrofits, controls upgrades, or automation modernization projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong technical communication skills with the ability to explain programming logic, design decisions, and troubleshooting methodologies.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Servo motion control experience
