PostgreSQL Database Administrator

As a PostgreSQL DBA at Atos Group, you will own the core Postgres data store across environments and collaborate with developers to shape the data model for new feeds. You will maintain performance, ensure secure access, and manage data lifecycle within the application database. The role sits within a team focused on scalable, secure data platforms and cross-functional delivery. • Own and operate the PostgreSQL cluster across cloud and on-premises environments
• Monitor and tune database performance to optimise throughput and latency
• Migrate data structures across instances and environments, including offline setups
• Own data models and manage data lifecycle within Postgres
• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ingest diverse data sources
• Implement and manage security controls, roles, permissions, and RLS
• Coordinate installation and patching with the infrastructure team across environments

• PostgreSQL DBA with core development/maintenance and performance optimisation
• Experience with clustering, and extensions (pgvector, PostGIS, AGE is a plus)
• Strong DB management: performance tuning, index/execution plan analysis, query optimisation
• Backup and recovery design for different environments
• Experience with data modelling: schemas/tables/views, JSON storage best practices
