Overview
As a PostgreSQL DBA within a global systems team, you will own and optimize cross-platform databases to support trading and research. You’ll collaborate with development, investment, and infrastructure units to design, deploy, and operate highly available, high-performance databases. The role emphasizes automation, monitoring, and incident escalation across test, development, and production environments. London-based, with a culture of knowledge sharing and strong engineering rigor, offering a fast-paced, well-funded tech milieu.

- Own full lifecycle database management for PostgreSQL and SQL Server
- Design, deploy and support cross-platform databases in test, development, and production environments
- Linux and Windows system administration and configuration management
- Local and network storage management and cloud infrastructure handling
- Monitor performance, availability and capacity; ensure HA/DR readiness
- Provide Level 2/3 support and escalation management
- Automate repetitive tasks to reduce human error and increase efficiency
- Collaborate with internal development, investment and infrastructure teams to deliver robust database solutions
- 5+ years of PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Experience with high availability, backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Knowledge of PL/PgSQL, triggers, stored procedures development and optimization
- Linux and Windows systems administration experience
- Experience with Python, Ruby or Perl
- Basic understanding of source control concepts and SDLC
- Full project lifecycle ownership from initiation to deployment
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related experience
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to teach/learn within a knowledge-sharing culture
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
