This Principal Engineer role owns Scribd’s technical vision for agentic engineering. You will set architecture, patterns, and guardrails across codebases, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure. The work combines platform thinking, developer experience, AI application, and organization-wide technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define architecture for engineers and coding agents across software systems
  • Set direction for internal tools, libraries, and platforms
  • Turn ambiguous cross-organizational problems into delivered initiatives
  • Mentor staff and senior engineers across the organization
  • Expand agent capabilities throughout engineering workflows

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Staff or Principal-level engineering experience
  • Production experience applying AI to software problems
  • Knowledge of runtimes, harnesses, tools, context, and evaluations
  • Developer experience, platform, or infrastructure engineering depth
