Principal AI Platform Engineer

Build production-scale AI platforms with Python, Java, AWS, and modern DevOps practices for Sun Life’s global contact center technology. The role is hybrid.

Sun Life seeks a Principal AI Engineer to implement cloud capabilities and GenAI solutions across contact centers in Canada, Asia, and the United States. You will shape platform standards, manage model lifecycles, and support reliable delivery. Success requires architectural depth, strong communication, and experience guiding engineering squads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design scalable AI/ML architectures and production deployment patterns
• Manage model component versioning across development and production
• Enhance automation, software guardrails, and DevOps practices
• Create technical designs covering data models and integrations
• Provide post-production troubleshooting and performance optimization

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of engineering experience
• Advanced AI/ML architecture and model lifecycle expertise
• Strong AWS services and cloud infrastructure experience
• Proficiency in API development and management
• Ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams across locations
