Principal Android Engineer - Search and Recommendations Experience

As Principal Android Engineer in the Search and Recommendations Experience team, you lead the design of scalable mobile solutions and AI-enabled features for Expedia Group. You set architectural direction, drive multi-service initiatives, and mentor engineers across global teams. You’ll translate business goals into robust APIs, data models, and Android architectures that enhance travel experiences. • Architect, design, and deliver scalable Android mobile solutions across travel platforms
• Lead technical direction for multi-service and cross-domain initiatives, establishing coding standards
• Develop system designs, API specifications, and data models for integration with services
• Mentor mobile engineers and promote code quality and knowledge sharing
• Integrate AI/ML-enabled features to improve user experience and business outcomes
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver innovative mobile features

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of relevant professional experience
• Proven expertise designing and delivering complex Android apps at scale, including API design
• Experience leading architecture for multi-service, cross-domain, or large mobile initiatives
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and applying them to real-world products
