Principal Architect for Data Center Projects

In this role you will lead data center projects and drive growth for HDR’s UK data center architecture practice. You’ll steer design teams, manage client relationships, and coordinate with global HDR groups to deliver profitable projects. The position blends technical leadership with business development to win new work and elevate HDR’s market presence. • Lead architectural data center projects of varying sizes
• Direct design team and collaborate with other project leadership
• Engage directly with clients to ensure satisfaction
• Oversee performance of the design team and maintain project profitability
• Coordinate with project management to ensure delivery processes and standards compliance
• Drive HDR’s marketing and BD efforts, including proposal strategy and presentations
• Develop annual BD/marketing plan and liaise with UK and HDR teams
• Support staff development and ongoing training
• Lead the data center production team in the UK
• Liaise with HDR design and delivery teams outside the UK

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related field
• At least 10 years’ experience as project lead
• Strong recent experience with data center projects
• Registered Architect (ARB, RIBA)
• Experience leading large-scale projects
• Ability to lead a team on projects
• Extensive knowledge of local and regional market
• Strong leadership, mentoring, motivation, and people skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
