Principal Automation Architect (Siemens PCS 7)

As Principal Automation Architect, you lead Siemens PCS 7 platform architecture and set reusable design standards to enable scalable, secure automation across programs. You will partner with product, cybersecurity, and quality teams to align technical direction with regulatory and lifecycle needs. Your work shapes integration across IT and OT environments and drives engineering excellence in life sciences solutions. This role offers impact by building reusable automation capabilities that support vaccines, medicines, and cell therapies. You will work in a cross-functional, globally distributed environment with a clear mission to accelerate science through robust automation.
Responsibilities- Lead solution architecture for Siemens PCS 7 across programs, products, and systems from concept to delivery
- Define and maintain platform standards, reference architectures, and a reusable application library
- Design scalable, secure automation solutions across IT and OT, including system integration and data interfaces
- Provide technical leadership for complex development programs and guide cross-team design decisions
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, cybersecurity, quality, and governance to align technical direction with business priorities and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or OT architecture with leadership responsibilities
- Expert-level proficiency with Siemens PCS 7 (architecture, engineering standards, integration, lifecycle, reusable library design)
- Experience translating product, process, cybersecurity, and system requirements into scalable automation architectures
- Working knowledge of industrial communication and integration technologies and cross-disciplinary leadership
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (including international travel) and work across lab, office, and manufacturing environments
