Principal Consultant - Cloud & Engineering

As Principal Consultant for Cloud & Engineering, you lead senior technical guidance across complex client engagements, shaping cloud adoption, optimization and migration strategies. You blend cloud architecture with consulting, delivery and engineering leadership to turn strategic intent into practical outcomes. You’ll work directly with clients and delivery teams, driving discovery, architecture reviews and proofs-of-concept while promoting iterative value delivery. This role combines hands-on delivery with mentorship in a diverse, cross-functional environment to help clients become more agile and resilient.

• Act as trusted advisor on cloud, technology and engineering challenges
• Lead discovery sessions, architecture reviews and proofs-of-concept projects
• Shape technology transformation visions for cloud optimization and migration journeys
• Guide de-risking programmes with iterative delivery and value
• Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams delivering platforms and services
• Define functional and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, sustainability, etc.)
• Advise on privacy, information security, resilience and regulatory considerations
• Support teams with engineering practices, automation, DevSecOps and IaC
• Collaborate with software, platform, data, AI, security, operations, product and finance teams
• Keep up-to-date with cloud, data engineering, analytics, Generative AI and responsible AI practices
• Mentor colleagues to develop technical, consulting and leadership capabilities

• Experience as Principal or Lead Cloud Architect, Technical Architect or Engineering Leader on multiple programmes/projects
• Strong track record designing and delivering solutions with modern cloud technologies
• Experience in complex, distributed or changing technology environments
• Understanding of how software, platforms, data and AI deliver business value
• Hands-on guidance with delivery teams, prototyping or problem-solving
• Experience in fast-paced, Agile, delivery-focused environments with a show-by-doing approach
• Mentoring and people development experience
• Open, proactive, adaptable mindset and constructive response to change
