Overview

As Principal Data Management Lead, you will shape and steward enterprise data management strategy and standards. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organisation to raise data trust, quality and accessibility, while embedding data governance across domains. You’ll drive adoption of data management capabilities and lead initiatives on data quality, lineage and master data. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to enable better decision-making and support business transformation with trusted data. This is an opportunity to influence data culture at scale within a fast-growing digital retailer and contribute to data-driven growth.

Responsibilities
  • Shape and evolve Enterprise Data Management strategy, standards and best practices
  • Drive adoption of robust Data Management capabilities across the organisation
  • Lead initiatives in Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Reference and Master Data, and Data Lifecycle Management
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to improve data trust, consistency and accessibility
  • Champion data ownership and stewardship models across domains
  • Influence programmes to embed Data Management requirements from the outset
  • Identify and remediate data-related risks and control weaknesses
  • Increase visibility of data flows, lineage and dependencies across systems
  • Advocate effective use of Data Management tooling and capabilities
  • Support continuous improvement of Data Management maturity
Key requirements
  • Significant experience within Enterprise Data Management or Data Governance
  • Strong knowledge of Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Reference Data, Master Data and Data Lifecycle Management
  • Experience in large, complex data environments
  • Understanding of Data Management frameworks, controls and best practice
  • Experience implementing Data Management standards and driving adoption across teams
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach
  • Experience supporting business transformation and continuous improvement programs
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
