Overview

In this role you will drive the modernization of data, analytics and application solutions that underpin core processes across the firm. You will lead the design, build and support of robust data platforms, enabling scalable and cloud-ready systems. Partner with product owners and engineers to reduce technical debt and deliver measurable business value through data products and reporting. You will act as a technical authority, raising engineering standards and mentoring others. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled team role that blends delivery with strategic insight in a fast-growing technology environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and support data and application solutions underpinning critical processes
  • Lead engineering, optimization and continuous improvement of the database estate for performance, resilience, security and maintainability
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to modernise legacy solutions and enable scalable platforms
  • Design and deliver analytics, reporting and data products to improve decision making
  • Develop and support business-critical applications integrating data, automation and user experiences
  • Act as technical authority for database and analytics engineering, setting best practices and mentoring others
  • Contribute to proof of concepts and hands-on delivery in a multi-skilled team
Key requirements
  • Deep expertise in SQL Server, performance tuning, schema design, data modelling and operational support
  • Strong relational database design knowledge and data modelling
  • Ability to write complex SQL, stored procedures, views and functions
  • Strong mathematical aptitude for analysing data and processes
  • Knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M language)
  • Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, cloud connectivity and security
  • ETL, data integration experience
  • Data governance and information security awareness
  • Familiarity with source control and SDLC practices
  • Experience delivering data-driven applications and integrations
  • Reporting and analytics design, including Power BI and Fabric
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences
