Principal Developer – Contract Position– HIRING ASAP

Location: Glasgow – Hybrid Working

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £67k per year + Bonus Scheme

• FinTech, SaaS, or Finance background
• Industry based reconciliation development or other reconciliation software tool experience
• Proven experience delivering configuration/code on time and within budget.
• Experience acting as a technical lead on projects.
• Line management of small teams.
• Strong understanding of the phases of the software development and implementation lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of the Change Control Process to identify any movement of agreed scope.
• Strong understanding of developing personal development plans, goals, and objective setting.
• Strong MS SQL, data querying & data manipulation.
• Strong time management and recording skills.
• Ownership of & adherence to individual and team planned efforts.

Job Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support a team of Senior, L2, and L1 Developers in their development and goals.
• Provide individual team members with support and guidance in their roles and the tasks that they undertake.
• Drive and develop best practices.
• Line management
• Implementing & Testing the clients’ core financial management solution.
• Review and sign off solution designs.
• Direct project build team and oversee build effort.
• Ownership of defect triage and defect management through the acceptance testing phase.
• Act as first line of escalation outside of project for technical issues.
• Lead peer reviews.

• MS SQL
• SSRS / Power BI
• Low-code configuration tools
• Data querying and manipulation
• SQL performance tuning
