Design embedded software in C and C++ onsite in Horsham, Pennsylvania, developing optical networking features for Coherent Corp. products.

As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will develop features from customer and product requirements, resolve legacy-product issues, and improve product performance. The work spans embedded systems, optical networking equipment, and software functions including platform infrastructure, BSP, applications, alarms, and service management. You will also support validation, integration, hardware, and test engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design software features from customer and product requirements
  • Develop features for existing and future products
  • Resolve bugs and sustaining issues in legacy products
  • Coordinate with validation, integration, optical, hardware, and test engineers
  • Maintain accurate, current firmware documentation

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Eight-plus years in embedded software systems
  • Five-plus years in optical networking industry equipment
  • Expertise in C and C++ embedded programming
  • Familiarity with L2/L3 protocols, Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps
