Principal Embedded Software Engineer

We are working with an established technology business developing safety-critical embedded software looking for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join their Bristol-based engineering team.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on developing safety-critical embedded software, with particular emphasis on Embedded C and RTOS technologies.
Key Responsibilities Lead technical aspects of embedded software projects. Design, develop and test low-level embedded software. Work extensively with C, assembler and RTOS technologies. Contribute to software architecture and technical design. Debug hardware/software integration issues. Lead code reviews and promote software best practices. Support safety-critical validation, certification and compliance. Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
Key Requirements Strong commercial experience in Embedded Software Engineering. Excellent Embedded C skills. Strong RTOS experience – ideally FreeRTOS or SAFE RTOS. Low-level embedded experience, ideally ARM Cortex. Experience within a safety-critical environments Experience with embedded networking such as TCP/IP and UDP. Experience with software architecture, requirements and configuration management. Degree or equivalent in an engineering/science/technical discipline.
