Principal Engineer - Combat Systems (External Communications)

In this role you lead requirements management and testing/integration of external communications equipment into submarines' combat systems. You collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure design proofs and verification plans are aligned with programme processes. You’ll provide technical support across integration and system acceptance activities in a highly multidisciplinary defence environment. • Capture and agree technical requirements per company and programme processes
• Create and manage design documentation, including change requirements
• Contribute to VCRI, ITEAP, and Qualification Plans with input validated by authority
• Ensure comprehensive design proving evidence in requirements management tools and endorsed by authority
• Flow down requirements to suppliers and record their deliverables
• Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including supplier equipment acceptance and system acceptance by the customer

• Knowledge of external (over the air) maritime defence communications systems and integration with platform architecture
• Platform or sea-going experience in operational, build, trials, or in-service support environments
• Experience with Product Safety and SHE
• Experience with requirements management (IBM DOORS) and verification/validation activities
• Experience in technical documentation authoring and reporting
