Principal Engineer (Data & AI Capabilities)

As Head of Data & AI, you will define the technical direction for data and AI initiatives and shape how solutions are designed and scaled across the business. You will lead the delivery of large-scale AI and data programs that are adopted across the organisation, establishing reusable frameworks and best practices. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders to translate business goals into impactful technical outcomes, while mentoring engineers and ensuring governance and controls keep AI capabilities responsible and reliable. This is a fast-paced role centered on delivering measurable value and driving responsible AI adoption that supports decision-making for millions of customers. You’ll join

• Set the technical direction for Data & AI and shape architecture across the business
• Lead design and delivery of large-scale AI and data solutions
• Establish standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks for teams
• Improve monitoring and production reliability of AI systems
• Collaborate with Data, Product and Engineering to translate business goals into technical solutions
• Mentor engineers and enforce governance, standards, and controls as AI capability grows

• Extensive experience designing and delivering large-scale data and AI solutions in production
• Proven track record setting technical direction and engineering standards across organisations
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with data-intensive systems in production
• Experience or strong interest in applying skills to AI/ML engineering
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes
