Overview
As Principal Engineer (Intrinsic Safety) at SGS, you lead and own ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification activities within a fast-paced engineering team. You provide technical leadership, guidance to clients and internal teams, and drive project delivery and continuous improvement. You ensure equipment for explosive atmospheres is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose while enhancing efficiency and client value. This role combines technical authority with stakeholder engagement in a global TIC environment.

- Lead ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification activities in line with ISO 17025 and ISO 17065
- Act as a technical authority, guiding clients and internal teams on certification requirements
- Support the Engineering Manager with team performance, utilisation targets, and project delivery (time, cost, scope)
- Drive continuous improvement across certification processes to enhance efficiency and client value
- Develop quotations, review certifications, and build strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
- Degree in Electronics
- ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification experience
