Principal Engineer, Mobile Platform & Backend Systems

As a Senior Backend Engineer in Mobile, you shape the backend systems powering AI-driven product experiences. You’ll influence cross-team architecture, deliver scalable services, and ensure secure, reliable operations for mobile and web customers. You’ll work closely with product and senior engineers to translate customer needs into durable technical solutions. This is a chance to impact how AlphaSense scales its SuperAnalyst workflows and multi-tenant platforms. • Define technical direction for client-facing APIs and backend architecture
• Collaborate with service/platform owners to simplify backend connections for product workloads
• Lead across application, search/AI, and shared platform teams to align on priorities
• Deliver services and subsystems across team boundaries and prove them in production
• Shape authentication/identity across Web and Mobile with platform teams
• Mentor engineers, promote reusable patterns, and raise the team’s technical judgment

• Deep production backend and distributed-systems expertise with end-to-end ownership
• Proven ability to simplify complex architectures across teams
• Strong hands-on production coding and system evolution contributions
• Experience designing client-facing REST and GraphQL APIs with guidance on state and compatibility
• Understanding mobile lifecycle and network constraints on backend design
• Solid knowledge of authentication, authorization, entitlements, and sessions
• Track record improving reliability and performance with observability and production validation
