Principal Engineer - Verification IP (VIP team)

As a Principal Verification IP Engineer, you will own key AMBA VIP products and drive their deployment into IP, Subsystem or SoC test benches. You will lead architectural decisions, roadmap planning and cross-team collaboration to deliver high-quality verification solutions. You’ll mentor engineers, improve verification methodologies, and push for continuous improvement across the VIP portfolio. This role combines deep technical leadership with hands-on engineering to shape Arm’s verification capabilities at scale. You will work closely with architects and project leads to deliver impactful VIP innovations.

• Take technical ownership of one or more VIP products or areas, including architecture and evolution
• Define requirements and priorities with AMBA Architects and project leads
• Drive architectural decisions balancing functionality, performance and maintainability
• Lead strategy and deliver major engineering workstreams with defined quality and schedules
• Support Arm teams in integrating VIP solutions into their benches
• Identify and implement improvements to VIP products and processes
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers across experience levels

• Significant IP/SoC verification experience
• Deep expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM-based test bench or VIP development
• Strong understanding of functional verification methodologies (constrained-random, coverage-driven, formal, assertions)
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience leading complex technical work packages and delivering outcomes
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts
