Overview
In this role you will lead the PLM enterprise architecture practice, connecting PLM with ERP and MES at global strategic accounts. You will act as both hands-on architect and strategic advisor, shaping frameworks and roadmaps to drive business value. You’ll influence product delivery and go-to-market enablement while promoting best practices across PLM deployments. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that blends technology leadership with business strategy.
Responsibilities- Lead design, optimization, and governance of integrated PLM architectures with interoperability to ERP, MES, and other platforms
- Drive PLM practice maturation by establishing reference architectures, patterns, and standards for digital thread, data governance, and process optimization
- Oversee PLM integration with core systems (ALM, ERP, MES, SLM) to improve efficiency, traceability, and time-to-market
- Serve as trusted advisor on enterprise PLM, ERP, and MES architecture and roadmaps for internal teams, clients, and partners
- Shape architectural strategies for global strategic accounts ensuring alignment with customer success objectives and transformation goals
- Apply TOGAF or similar frameworks to develop architectures and artifacts; facilitate stakeholder workshops and roadmaps
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and delivery to develop new sales plays, solution blueprints, and customer messaging
- Promote best practices and stay current with PLM, digital thread, AI-driven product development, and related technologies
- Mentor internal teams and partners on enterprise architecture practices; evangelize PLM and digital thread within communities of practice
- 12+ years in engineering/manufacturing system architecture with PLM, ERP, and/or MES experience spanning product lifecycle processes
- Deep domain expertise in enterprise PLM (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA), ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle), and MES; strong understanding of EBOM/MBOM, change/configuration management, and PLM-ERP-MES integrations
- Strong technical skills in integration patterns, APIs, data modeling, and hybrid/cloud architectures; business acumen in process reengineering and ROI analysis
- Expert understanding of master data governance, Digital Thread, and Integrated Product Engineering
- TOGAF or Zachman or equivalent architecture framework experience; ability to apply architectural thinking across business, application, data, and technology domains
- Excellent problem solving, stakeholder management, advisory, presentation, and communication skills; experience influencing C-level executives and cross-functional teams
- Strong project/program management capabilities; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
