Principal Platform Engineer

As Principal Platform Engineer, you will deploy and manage applications across cloud and on‑prem environments to support Raytheon UK’s cyber-focused mission. You’ll build and refine development tools, automate release processes, and ensure systems remain secure against cyber threats. You’ll work in a mature agile setting with SCRUM teams to deliver large‑scale applications. This role combines hands‑on engineering with cross‑team collaboration to enable resilient, scalable platforms.

• Deploy applications and software to cloud or on‑prem environments across business areas
• Build and configure development tools and infrastructure
• Automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensure systems are secure against cyber threats
• Identify technical problems and develop updates and solutions
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure adherence to established processes and quality standards

• Experience in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery models
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
• Building and deploying large‑scale applications in CI/CD pipelines
• Container platforms and orchestration (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/Helm/Docker)
• Automation and integration tools (Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents)
• Scripting languages and source control
• Willingness to attain eDV clearance and eligibility for SC clearance
